Welcome to Save Johnnie Walker

Shock and disbelief met the news that Diageo plan to close the plant at Hill Street in Kilmarnock.

Initially the focus was on how the news was broken by Diageo, however now we will concentrate on where we go from here. The First Minister and John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth have promised full government support and together we will work, at all levels of government, towards producing a cohesive argument and firm proposals to dissuade Diageo from implementing their plans to close Hill Street.

All partners involved are encouraging a clear, public debate on the future of the Johnnie Walker complex and this requires the support of all local people. Everyone agrees that Johnnie Walker is synonymous with Kilmarnock and it will be damaging to the future of the brand if the Striding Man leaves his home town.

This website will provide information on the Save Johnnie Walker campaign and give people all over the world the opportunity to voice their support for the employees from Johnnie Walker.
