It’s extremely important to weigh all the factors and consequences of a decision including the history, the local committment, the pride and ownership of the product, etc. Closing Johnnie Walker’s in Kilmarnock is not simply a “plant closure” – it is a loss of history, of identity PLUS the local impact would be HORRENDOUS!!! I was in Kilmarnock in 1996….and priviledged to attend the anniversary of Johnnie Walker’s (including seeing the strapping young man in character!)…the pride in the brewery was evident and something to embrace…it should be nutured NOT abandoned!
    KEEP IT GOING….IN KILMARNOCK!!
