Jim Mather signs campaign petition

When Jim Mather MSP, Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, visited Ayrshire last week, he took time out of his busy schedule to sign the public petition to Keep Johnnie Walker in Kilmarnock.

In Ayrshire to conduct a conversation on Tourism Destination Status, Enterprise Minister Jim Mather said: “The Scottish Government is focused on saving jobs and presenting Diageo with a strong, alternative business proposition.

“The implications of the company’s plans are simply not acceptable to the Scottish people who, in adding their name to the petition to Keep Johnnie Walker in Kilmarnock, can help get the best possible outcome for Diageo and its staff.”

A number of Scottish Government ministers, including First Minister Alex Salmond, Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Housing and Communities Minister Alex Neil, have already put their names to the petition.
