Masked Workers In Silent Protest

Mask-M03Johnnie Walker workers showed their support for the campaign to keep Johnnie Walker in Kilmarnock by wearing iconic Striding Man masks as they came off night shift in the complex at Hill Street, Kilmarnock.

The drive to save 700 Diageo jobs in Kilmarnock is growing apace, with posters in businesses and homes and a petition signed by local people and politicians, including First Minister Alex Salmond.

A ‘Keep Striding Forward’ mass rally and march is set to take place on Sunday 26 July with 20,000 supporters expected to take part.

East Ayrshire Council is determined that an international brand associated with the town since 1820 remains in Kilmarnock– the birthplace of Johnnie Walker.
